How to maintain branded seating?

Summer is coming, and with it, the season for outdoor events, meetings in summer cafes, beer gardens, or bars. Such places cannot function without comfortable seating. How to prepare them for the season? How to take care of branded seating? Here are a few tips.

Branded deck chairs and advertising chairs

We will discuss branded seating based on a wooden structure together, as their maintenance and daily use are very similar.

Checking

Before you set out your previously used printed deckchair outside, check if it is fully functional: see if the structure hasn’t been damaged and if the safety elements are intact. If any protection is incomplete, be sure to replace it. You can easily buy new ones in online stores. Never use faulty deck chairs, as it risks a fall or bodily injury.

Also, evaluate the condition of the fabric cover: check if it isn’t frayed and whether it might need replacing. In some types of deck chairs, the cover is fixed with staples. In that case, replacing it will take a bit more time. Maintenance

A wooden deck chair structure requires maintenance to look impeccable for several seasons. This process has several stages. First, remove the cover, remove dirt, degrease, and sand the surface with sandpaper. Second, impregnate the wood with an appropriate agent. You have many products to choose from: you can paint the deck chair with acrylic paint, spray, or wood stain. You can also use wax or wood oil for impregnation. Once the preparation has dried, the process should be repeated.

Perform maintenance in a shaded area so that the product does not dry too quickly.

Care

Just as important as maintenance is constant care for the deck chair. Do not expose it to repeated rain. Getting wet once certainly won’t harm your seat, provided it is properly cleaned and dried. If your deck chair doesn’t have to stand in the sun, put it away – it will serve you longer!

Small stains on the deck chair can be cleaned with a sponge or cloth with fabric detergent and then rinsed. Avoid soaking the entire structure. If the stains are larger, remove the cover and wash it according to the instructions on the label.

Store the deck chairs folded; stand or lay them so that the structure remains straight. Otherwise, the deck chair may warp. Do not put the deck chair in plastic foil, because if the structure is still a bit damp, it won’t be able to dry.

Advertising chairs

Virtually all remarks regarding deck chairs can also be applied to advertising chairs. Before use, check the durability of the structure, safety features, and the condition of the cover. Every now and then – when the wood starts to turn grey – maintain it. You can either clean the chair cover without removing it or take it off and wash it (always follow the instructions on the label).

The wooden structure – although durable – does not like water and moisture. So, do not expose it to rain or dampness, and if it does happen – dry the chair. Everything will dry better if you remove the cover. Do not keep the chair in the sun unnecessarily. Store the seat so that its structure is not warped.

Bean bag chairs

Polyester vs. eco-leather

At the beginning, it is worth making one very important distinction. We treat eco-leather bean bags differently than those made of polyester. Elegant eco-leather does not handle outdoor conditions as well: it dries slower and should not be exposed to direct sunlight. For outdoor use, polyester is definitely the better choice.

Cleaning polyester is done the same way as with deck chairs: you can clean minor stains without removing the cover or wash the entire cover according to the instructions on the label. In the latter case, removing the filling from the cover may be a bit difficult. In our opinion, it is best to combine this task with a complete replacement of the granules – remove the old ones and put new ones into the already washed cover.

Cleaning eco-leather is best done with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive sponges or cloths, and do not scrub, as you may damage the surface.

Regranulate (Filling)

Bean bag filling degrades over time, which makes the bean bag less full and, for example, provides poorer back support. In such cases, it is worth topping up the amount of regranulate or replacing it entirely. This will make the seat bouncy and comfortable again.

Filled and foldable cubes

Promotional seating cubes with filling are exceptionally easy to handle. They require no maintenance, only regular cleaning. The covers of the cubes can be removed, which will make the whole task much easier for you.

Styrofoam and upholstery foam

It is worth remembering the nature of the fillings used. Styrofoam does not absorb water; its absorbency is close to zero. On the other hand, upholstery foam acts like a sponge. This fact must be taken into account during the use and cleaning of the advertising cubes.

Polyester and eco-leather

The type of cover is also of great importance. As we have already mentioned, polyester is more resistant to water, sun, and mechanical damage. Eco-leather, in turn, should be treated with delicacy—avoid direct sunlight and dampness. Both polyester and eco-leather should always be cleaned according to the instructions on the care label.

Outdoor use

For outdoor use, styrofoam cubes with polyester covers work best. They will dry much faster. However, if you are drying them without removing the cover (though we recommend removing it for drying), remember to turn the cube over so that the bottom also dries thoroughly.

Styrofoam cubes do not handle throwing or falling well, as their corners can be damaged. So, if you expect an invasion of toddlers who might treat the cubes like building blocks or balls, opt for cubes with foam filling.

Yoga Cube

A slightly different type of promotional cube is the Yoga cube – it combines the functions of a storage box and a seat, and furthermore, it can be folded so that the entire unit fits inside the lid-seat. How to care for such a cube?

First and foremost, Yoga cubes prefer a flat surface – both during storage and use. Use it in a way that the structure is aligned evenly and the supporting elements are loaded relatively equally. Do not stand on the cube – this poses a risk of falling and damaging the seat structure.

The Yoga cube is easy to clean: in the latest version, the outer cover elements can be removed, and those made of polyester can also be washed (always according to the instructions on the care label). When cleaning Yoga cube covers, the same rules apply as for cubes with foam or styrofoam filling. If the polyester cover requires deep cleaning, it is better to remove it, wash it, and dry it separately.

Do not allow the cube to get soaked – this can lead to damage to the structural elements, such as OSB or HDF boards. Moreover, a soaked seat made of upholstery foam is simply difficult to dry.

Summary

Branded seating does not like moisture or excessive sun; while different types offer varying levels of resistance, the forces of nature generally have a “destructive” effect over time. The better you protect your seats from these elements, the longer they will remain functional and visually striking.
